Our in house development team have been busy behind the scenes developing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), allowing for improved security measures to ensure the safety of your data when using Prism Apps.
MFA will introduce a new process to verify a user is correct by emailing a 6-digit code to their registered email address, which will then need entered into the system.
Find out more below about the introduction of MFA to Prism Apps.
If you would like to opt in for this new feature or if you have any questions, please get in touch with our team at – info@prismenergy.co.uk.
Multi Factor Authentication Process
Upon the introduction of MFA on the 24th of April 2023, organisations can contact Prism to opt into the feature at no extra cost. However, there will be no affect for organisations who choose not to opt in.
For users that are associated with an organisation who has opted for MFA they will be prompted for it. Otherwise the login process remains the same.
Upon logging in, MFA users will be presented with an extra dialogue box where they will be prompted to enter their 6-digit code (sent to the associated email upon login). If this procedure is conducted successfully the user won’t be prompted for another 90 days.
The only exception to this is if the user works from both home and the office, once at home the user will be prompted to complete the process again due to a change in IP address (and vice versa). However, this wont affect the 90 days already in play from the previous workplace MFA process, they will run in parallel.
If a user fails more than three consecutive authentication attempts, their account will be disabled and they will be prompted to contact us in order to re-enable them.
