At Prism Energy, we have decades of experience operating on pipeline projects across the North Sea and beyond. Our project managers are actively involved in various pipeline projects, including pre-commissioning, pigging, inline inspection (ILI), and decommissioning.
Below is an overview of a pipeline inspection scope we completed in West Africa.
A progressive cleaning campaign was executed across two pipelines in preparation for an ILI (inline inspection). Phase one involved the pipeline running between the wellhead tower and FPSO, while phase two involved the pipeline running between the FPSO and onshore receiver station.

The project required overcoming several logistical
constraints, including daily boat transfers to the platform and restrictions on
onshore travel to daylight hours. Weather conditions added complexity,
alongside the need to operate on an unmanned installation and address anchor
damage sustained by one of the pipelines. Fluctuations in the pipeline
operating parameters and unexpected damage to a cleaning pig added further complexity
to the scope, requiring greater review and caution.
These challenges were successfully managed due to our experience
in pig launching procedures and our ability to review data alongside the
physical condition of the returned pigs. Additionally, our background in international
operations allowed us to develop productive relationships with local teams.
